- Material Quality: High-quality steel or aluminum material distributes energy upon impact without bending. Cheap and thin materials do not provide protection.
- Coating: Powder coating or chrome plating provides resistance against corrosion. This is important in humid and rainy regions of Turkey.
- Mounting Points: Crash bars that use original bolt holes can be mounted without damaging the motorcycle.
How to Install a Crash Bar?
Most crash bars bolt to the motorcycle's original mounting points. General installation steps:
- Place the motorcycle on a flat and stable surface, turn off the ignition.
- Remove the original bolts in the relevant area.
- Align the crash bar with the mounting points.
- Tighten the bolts first by hand, then with a torque wrench according to manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure all connections are secure.
